Our story
We began our company in a small workshop. We began assembling the first luminaires in a rented cellar in 1992. Today, 150,000 of them are yearly made in a modern production hall. Sometimes, it seems like a light year has passed since the beginning. But our passion for beautiful lights still keeps us captivated.
In the beginning, technical parameters were our primary focus. An exhibition in Hanover in 1997 opened our eyes and doors to the world of light. We added a unique appearance to the quality and began to develop lighting that combined top performance and a unique design.
When the economic crisis hit us hard in 2009 and our revenues declined by 41% from one day to the next, we could either give up or adapt. We had to streamline the company, transform the business and marketing strategy and add more passion to our work.
We purchased the grounds of Přibylova weaving mill in Nové Město nad Metují in 2009 and reconstructed it into a modern production plant with a mechanical and assembly workshop. The 3,500 m2 warehouse is managed through on-line mobile terminals.
We cooperate with research organizations in our country and around the world. We examine the properties of light and luminaires together with universities and scientific institutions.
We have built a light laboratory with technology for the development of luminaires. The most important part consists of a black room with a goniophotometer and a ball integrator, where optical measurement takes place. The thermal chamber ensures thermal measurement. Thanks to this, we are constantly improving our luminaires.
We produce and export designer technical luminaires. We know that high-quality lighting provides a better experience of a place whether you are at work, at the office, a bank, a restaurant or home. What do we expect from luminaires? To meet the needs of people who spend time in the lit area, its all about the lit appearance for the individuals.
Our employees carry out conscientious work in every detail. You will find world designers and engineers for whom the development of lights is their daily bread in our ranks. We are happy about our state-of-the-art tools and an even better team with open minds and their feet firmly planted on the ground.
We are doing research and educating ourselves. We have built a state-cutting edge Light and Development Laboratory. We cooperate with universities and scientific organizations. We are perfecting the Human Centric Lighting method that responds to the requirements of the human organism.
