Sustainability is a big topic today. We are constantly working to reduce the carbon footprint not only of our own operations, but also of our customers through our products.
All our luminaires are manufactured in Europe. Likewise, most components and materials are sourced from Europe.
We offer a five-year warranty on our luminaires, and in their development we focus, among other things, on their cost-effectiveness and achieving the highest possible efficiency.
We pack all linear and circular luminaires in paper or recycled packaging. For the rest of our products we use stretch film with a 75% recycling rate. We use returnable boxes for one third of our luminaires. We reuse all packaging for the movement of materials and semi-finished products in production.
Over the last 3 years, we have reduced the total volume of waste in production by 28% (of which the proportion of mixed waste is 16.5%). We recycle iron, plastics, paper and aluminium.
In the last two years we have changed our heating method and saved 23% of energy. By controlling the lighting intensity with sensors, we have reduced electricity consumption by 40%, extending the life of the installed luminaires by 30%.
We have been using energy from our own solar panels in our Prague offices and in our New Town production hall since 2009.
From 2022, we will no longer buy cars with internal combustion engines. Charging stations are available both at the company's Prague headquarters and in the production hall. People can also arrive at work by bicycle; we support this option with bicycle stands and a lockable bike shed (also made by recycling our stand from the Light+Building fair).
We operate in a hybrid mode of working, thus reducing the impact caused by employees travelling to work. We combine homeoffice and office work, where we operate on shared workspaces.
We support projects to maintain green and water in the landscape and plant greenery on our properties.
We currently have 152 trees and shrubs planted on our properties. The green areas improve the microclimate around the production hall and create a more pleasant environment for employees and visitors.
Our catalogue has been significantly reduced and does not include technical specifications of the luminaires. For this purpose, we have a 24/7 updated product database where any technical data can be downloaded at any time and you can be sure that it is up to date - it is uploaded directly from our internal systems.
We print our catalogue once every 2-3 years. Of course, you can also browse the current one online here.
By using Halla luminaires, the building operator is guaranteed the best possible ESG rating for the building.
We produce luminaires that, thanks to the latest technologies, contribute to the creation of a healthy human environment. They use the principle of Human Centric Lighting and thus help to create a space that is pleasant and above all healthy in accordance with circadian rhythms.

We see EPD certification as an opportunity to improve the quality of our products at all stages of their life cycle. We monitor the carbon footprint in the development and production as well as in the marketing, use and disposal or recycling of our luminaires. We are progressively certifying all major product groups in our portfolio.
As a manufacturer of luminaires - i.e. products that consume electricity - we are obliged to prove many other things.
For us, sustainability is not just a communication issue and a bureaucratic obligation, but above all a necessary way of operating a company.
Although we are not yet obliged to prove ourselves with an ESG certificate, we are actively working on its report and especially its implementation. We will have the report available in the near future. If you would like to take a look at it, please contact us at marketing@halla.cz .
